This website was established to honor the memory of John Joseph Donohue--son, brother, husband, dad, teacher, leader, and friend. He died in 2014 after a brave 15-month battle with pancreatic cancer. He will be remembered for his warmth, quick wit, quiet guidance, and wisdom.
John's Band is our team for the Purple Stride 5K, an annual nationwide fundraiser for the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. Join us in DC to run (or walk!), or support us from afar by making a donation. To date we've raised $80,000 for this amazing organization that provides support for patients and families.
PINT GLASSES ARE HERE! We were inspired by our dear friend Robin Rezash, who lost her life to pancreatic cancer in 2021. The robin on the back of the glass is for her and the accompanying text is Gaelige (Irish) for "a drink for the door"--better known as "THE PARTING GLASS." This traditional song was originally a reference to the evening
PINT GLASSES ARE HERE! We were inspired by our dear friend Robin Rezash, who lost her life to pancreatic cancer in 2021. The robin on the back of the glass is for her and the accompanying text is Gaelige (Irish) for "a drink for the door"--better known as "THE PARTING GLASS." This traditional song was originally a reference to the evening's "last call" but has come to represent a bittersweet goodbye to loved ones. "So fill to me the parting glass/And drink a health whate'er befalls/Then gently rise and softly call/Good night and joy be to you all."
PRICES: $10 for local (DC-area) delivery/pickup or $15 if you need me to ship. TO ORDER: Venmo @Karen-Donohue-7 or to make other arrangements message me through CONTACT US at the bottom of this page.

The Foundation honors John's legacy as a Latin teacher by supporting a scholarship in his name that is awarded annually by the National Latin Exam.
The award goes to graduating college seniors who have demonstrated their commitment to classics by meeting the qualifications to renew their NLE scholarships for all four years of their undergraduate studies. These outstanding students go on to pursue advanced degrees and careers in wide-ranging fields, but all have in common a deep appreciation for the ways in which classical study has enhanced their lives and broadened their perspectives. We have been privileged to receive personal letters from them over the years. John would be humbled to know that he has influenced students he never got to meet.
To contribute to this award fund, send a check (payable to the National Latin Exam, with John Donohue Memorial Award in the memo line) to:
